some examples of housing options on Okinawa

Our preference is for base housing, however, we won't know where we are on the waiting list until we get there, could be 3 weeks, could be 4 months to a year. And I hear tell that while living in temp facilities (efficiency, suite, kitchenette, etc) you are required to actively search for off base housing. You can't just sit and wait for your name to come up on the on-base list. So we have been looking around the net, as much as we can, not knowing exactly where these cities are in relation to Tim's base.
